BREAST FEST

 

Louisville, KY –Get ready for Breast Fest, a week-long “breast-freeing” festival celebrating the Breast by creating 
visual art and performance to move toward a culture that better supports women, children, & breastfeeding.  
We wish to use visual and performance art to combine "lactivism", humor, and women’s stories to provide some 
healthy "exposure" for breastfeeding, & an amazing aspect of women’s anatomy that deserves more honor & respect.  
Breast-Fest is a collaboration between artists and activists including Angela Ramsey Robinson, & the Squallis Puppeteers 
and was made possible by the Kentucky Foundation for Women.  Photos are available.
 

·         Friday July 27th 2007- 6-9pm Breast-Fest kicks off on with a visual art installation at

UzoMa Gallery for Frankfort Ave Gallery Hop. Squallis Puppeteers will also have large puppets and drummers.

 

·        Monday-Friday August 6-10 - Each day, Monday through Friday during World Breast-feeding 
week- free interactive art workshops are available for those who want to be involved. You 
don’t have to be an artist to take part in making paper-mache breasts, sharing stories, or 
planning a performance. Join in when you can, but please contact us at uzoma@sprynet.com or

·        Saturday, August 11 from noon to 6pm- performance at 3pm, this is the day to share 
what we have made through the week with the public, support moms & babies with information 
about breastfeeding, and generate awareness of breastfeeding in the public through stickers 
and t-shirts. We will unveil our performance at 3pm.
