ENTRY GUIDELINES

·          There is no entry fee to submit artwork. 

·          If accepted, artists are asked to contribute $25 to off-set the cost of printing, website services, & promotion of the show.  No artist will be turned away due to lack of funds. Artists unable to contribute an exhibition fee can email uzoMa to request a fee waiver or may offer assistance in hanging the show, or other tasks in exchange.  Once you receive confirmation of acceptance, please submit fees by mail, or via paypal at uzoma@sprynet.com along with a completed entry form if this hasn't already been done. 

·          Please provide images/documents of artwork that fits the theme.  If you have multiple images or a small group or series that fit the theme, please include images of each piece.  Each piece or series, must include an artist’s statement. (I am willing to view works in progress or a proposal for a theme-based work along with a general work sample...please arrange with me if this is necessary.)

·          Accepted artists are responsible for their own postage and shipping to and from the gallery. (Any exceptions to this are in special circumstances & must be arranged.)

·          Digital Images mailed in a CD format are preferred & may be sent to the above address.

·          Email entries will be accepted at uzoma@sprynet.com. For initial inquiries or multiple images, please send jpeg images in a resolution & size appropriate for online viewing (approx 70dpi & screen-sized). If you attempt to send a larger file, please send only one attachment per email.   (If your work is accepted, you are invited to send an image appropriate for print & promotional purposes at that time to be considered for inclusion.  Approx. 6X9 & 300dpi)   

·          Please do not send your original work - dvds, cds, photos, slides will not be returned.

·         Range of 2-D & 3-D works, performance pieces, poetry and literary works, music, films, and installation submissions will be considered. Please fill out the submission guidelines including information, and video imagery if available/applicable.

·          All submissions should be properly framed and delivered READY TO HANG (preferably with wire.)  Please include any special instructions regarding hanging & discuss any questions or concerns with us prior to shipping or dropping off any work.

·          Accepted artwork must be delivered by hand or delivered to uzoMa by the stated deadline to be included in the show. Accepted artists will be notified regarding specifics.  (Special circumstances or extensions for proposed work in progress must be arranged prior to the deadline.)

·          All unsold artwork must be retrieved within one month following the closing reception. In the case of negligent or absent artists, UzoMa cannot be held responsible for the security of abandoned work. Un-retrieved artwork will be moved, stored, or sold as needed.

·          Show sales will be divided as such: 30% Gallery Compensation, 70% Artist Compensation.

·          UzoMa reserves the right to use submitted work for promotional and display purposes. Artist credit by name will be given in every possible case.

·          UzoMa assumes no responsibility for artwork damaged upon receipt or during return. The gallery will do all possible for the safe handling and display of artwork.  By submitting work, artists agree to hold uzoMa & it’s staff & volunteers harmless for any damage, theft, or loss of artwork of any kind.
